CyLAS — Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission
Definition: CyLAS is an independent public supervisory authority responsible for overseeing securities transactions, the investment services market, and the collective investment/asset management sector in the Republic of Cyprus. It also supervises Administrative Service Providers not regulated by ICPAC or the Cyprus Bar Association, as well as Crypto Asset Service Providers (CASPs). Establishment: CyLAS was established as a legal public entity under the “Securities and Exchange Commission (Establishment and Responsibilities) Law” of 2001, Article 5. Legal Basis: The operations, powers, and organizational structure of CyLAS are defined by the laws regulating the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (e.g. N73(I)/1009).Mission

Responsibilities
Supervision and Oversight:
Ensures regular, transparent, and effective supervision of the investment services market and securities transactions, safeguarding market integrity.
Compliance and Licensing:
Oversees the licensing and ongoing compliance of investment firms, collective investment schemes, and crypto asset service providers.
Investor Protection:
Protects investor rights, manages complaint mechanisms, and combats market abuse.
Policy & Regulatory Development:
Develops sectoral regulations, guidelines, and codes of practice to support the healthy growth of the financial market.
